School Involvement
Getting school-wide activities happening is a difficult process, but even one donation drive a year makes a huge difference in school spirit, building unity, and spreading awareness.
From My Med Club to Yours
Here are some In School Activities done through our Med Club that you can do as well!
-
Medical Ethics Debate
-
In Medical Ethics Debates, students explore different aspects of ethical dilemmas in the medical field- for example parental gene editing. Making this a school-wide event for the club allowed both speakers and people interested in the medical field to get involved and learn.
-
-
Hospital Aid
-
For our hospital aid events, our club made things hospitals requested to give to their patients to support them through their tough times. For example, we partnered with the UC Drake Center and gave the Surgery Rehabilitation patients cards during Valentine's Day.
-
-
Awareness Weeks
-
Awareness weeks consist of school wide posters and announcements to highlight one specific cause in one week. This is especially done to highlight causes specifically predominant in our community and school - such as Leukemia and Lymphoma.
-
-
Blood Drives
-
Blood Drive events are especially cool for our students since they can see and explore phlebotomy whilst also donating blood and learning about a good cause. This is a big event and unites the school together when donating blood.
-
-
Partnered Events
-
Partnered Events are like Guest Speaker events or College Advisor Visits, where professionals talk about the medical field, their experience in it, and how to pursue a career in it. These school-wide events gather a large audience with many interested students.
